The Difference Between Take Five
and Local Food Banks

Take Five Community Outreach’s primary focus is to provide help and hope to those who are struggling just to make ends meet.

We offer to anyone who has a need,
FIVE ITEMS, FREE OF CHARGE,
per month, no strings attached.

Take Five provides "taxable" items - items that are not covered by food stamp benefits.  Examples of these items are:

Toilet Paper
Shampoo
Bar Soap
Toothpaste
Toothbrushes
Bandages
Laundry Soap
Dish Soap

Our client familes are asked to complete a short demographic form (in order to remain accountable to our donors). This demographic for also allows us to track the products that our visitors need most.

If a visitor has a need for more than five items, we will make available these additional items for a donation of $1 per item. This helps us to replenish our stock and provide for anyone who has a need.

Additionally, we provide a Literacy Center where our client families may choose up to five books or magazines per month -- in an effort to encourage reading and skill-set building.
