Why she started Take Five:  "I see people every day who do without 'non-food' necessities because they have to make a choice between buying food or buying toilet paper. Hopefully Take Five can restore a little bit of their dignity by providing important 'non-food' items to those who need them, in an atmosphere that is kind, friendly and non-judgmental."

You can often hear her saying:  "Jesus never asked for your most recent pay stub.  He just reached out to help you."  and "How do I know that they people who come to Take Five really need our services?  I don't.  But I am not about to stand before God and tell Him that I denied someone something as basic as soap.  I'll take my chances and give our clients the benefit of the doubt."
